Good evening, I have a 1969 classic 13 and was wondering what the circular indentation is for , if anything, between the locker and the bow cleat.

That is the sprue hole.

During fabrication the outer and inner skins of the hull are bonded together and expanding foam was poured, via the hole, into the cavity. It expanded and excess foam escaped.

The hole was covered with epoxy and gelcoat. All Whalers have one or more sprue holes.
