Old style bow light / chock combo over new rubrail
1970 Currituck 16'. Father-Daughter project. I've replaced the original (single ply) adhesive mounted rubrail with the much more substantial 3 piece version sold by Specialty Marine. I love the rubrail and it looks great but it appears that I won't be able to mount the original bow light plate over the rubrail. Has anyone accomplished this? Any thoughts on technique? Thank you...
I think it might be too late in the evening for the real pros to answer so you got me instead. From what I recall you set the light assembly on and cut the rub rail to fit.
i have a 1971 Menemsha and I just went out in the dark and checked it. The rub rail is pretty flat against the front edge and it appears the assembly sits right on it.
The new rail type would not fit under for sure, so you are back to trimming to fit.
