I just repowered my 1967 Nauset with a 2020 Yamaha F90 but I need a prop. I have a solid mahogany console and a mahogany RPS seat. Under the console I have two batteries and a custom 27 gal. stainless fuel tank. WOT for the Yamaha is 6000 rpm.

16/17 owners with the F90 have done a fair bit of prop testing.

Their recommendations include:

13-1/3 x 18 Yamaha Performance Series
13 x 19 Yamaha Painted Stainless Steel
13 x 19 Powertech SCD

* Note size only applies to the make and model listed. Presumes the engine is mounted at least 2 holes up. Top bolt is in the 3rd hole down from top.

Expect a WOT of ~5800rpm's and 42-45mph running light and solo.

No. The sizes listed only apply to the make and model listed above.

The Talon has not been tested/recommended for this application.

Note - Props are very expensive. Dont' expect to get one cheap. That would be like getting a 95K Land Rover and installing tires from a Big Wheel child's toy.

Thank you, I previously had an F150 but it came with the prop. New boat, engine and setup

I have a 1988 17' Montauk with 2020 Yamaha F90. Ken at PropGods recommended the PT SCD3R17PVM90 and it's spot on. If you order through him he will swap until you're satisfied just cover shipping (and no damage).

My boat guy took it out today with a 13 x 15 SS with one hole up. ran 5200 to 5300 with little trim available. No porpoising. Go two holes up with a 18 or 19 pitch? I have a 19 coming Monday to try

You got two parallel threads. Stick to one and ditch the second.

Without a make/model, the size does not help.

Regardless, the prop size without make/model does not read to be a good choice.

Don't get distracted.

Props on the list, engine mounted 2 holes up. Test and report.

Given you are not interested in taking prop advice from owners with the same boat and engine, I have nothing more to add.

Sorry, missed that. My apologies.

I am at a loss why he is recommending that prop model.

Does he not have any Performance Series or Painted Stainless in stock and they are backordered?
