I purchased a 1964 Boston Whaler that has white paint painted over the original blue paint . I know that BW boats had a number etched into either under the front seat storage area or the transom area. But I do not want to sand it off when I start removing the white paint. So far, I have not been able to find it. I am not sure where this number is or how large the numerals are. Does anyone who has an early 13 foot sport or standard describe where it is, or have a picture of what the HIN looks like so I can concentrate. I would really appreciate the info!!

1964 and below has the Stencil number in the bow locker for 13' models.
1965 has the number on the inside of the transom below or between the motor bolts.

There are photos in the personal pages. I will try and look when I get time.

EDIT: here is one in the front locker

Here is another one that also shows the drain hole near the Stencil number in the bottom of the locker. 10953 = 1964

Thanks for help. I sanded off white coat. Got down to blue but as you can see in picture no etched in number. Although this boat was titled in 1964, can you think where else to look?
I thought I could send the picture as a jpg (only 22 kb) as an attachment but it says invalid file. Now I need help on two things.

You can't always go by the title.
There are only 2 places it could be as we have discussed that above.
See this members 1965 where the Stencil is on the inside of the transom.

Photos cannot have any spaces, characters, etc..
1.jpg will work or one.jpg will work, etc..

Joe,
How do I provide you the stencil number and other information for my 1988 13 Sport so that you can add it to your database?

EJR, just add you Stencil number to your boat info as you already have added your HIN.
See this list as you are shown here:
https://www.whalercentral.com/viewpag...age_id=194
Can you verify your HIN?
A photo would be great.
Thanks
