Many folks around the country are on AOL (America On Line), and use AIM. Other computers can also use the software, AIM, even without being an AOL member. You do need to create a free account with AIM to use it which is fine. For people with Apple computers, the AIM is integrated with iChat which is not only a text typing messenger, but also free voice calls over the Internet and the greatest feature of all, "Live Video Conferencing. I have an iSight camera attached to my computer and talk face to face, live, over the interenet with relatives and friends all over the country. And all of this is free over your Broadband connection.
