I've been happily using an 11'4" Standard Whaler, hull number BWCL4282G788 for 20 years. It hangs from davits when not in use, and serves it's intended purposes delightfully. Surprisingly the finish is still new looking!

I notice that your web site does not include the sizes 11'4" and smaller. Never-the-less, I could use some guidance to a source of rub rail components. The little 'Whaler has a three layer rub rail. The middle layer is a brittle plastic that has cracked, even shattered in places where the boat has struck obstructions. The rail should be replaced, and I'd like to keep it "box stock". Are these little boats still supported by the factory?

You should contact Sue Lodel at Twin Cities Marine. She is the best source for any OEM part for an older whaler. The rub rail I just helped install on my fathers 22 Guardian came from her and it was a pretty fair price. Both the standard 3 piece civilian rub rail and 2 piece commercial rub rail were manufactured by Bourbor Plastics and could be ordered from them however, Sue will make it painless.

James,

Welcome to WhalerCentral.

Most all models of Whalers share the same principal and many related parts.
There are quite a few members here with the 11' model and a few with the 9' model

Here is a personal page on our site of one of our administrators, grandsons, 9' tender:
http://www.whalercentral.com/infusion...er_id=4950

We are always looking for members to contribute photos of parts and their Whalers.
Check this section out:
http://www.whalercentral.com/userphot...allery.php
We do however need to add the 9' and 11' model to this list along with a few other models that we are missing.

Many people here have replaced their rub rail using the information Jeff mentioned above.
Good Luck with your project.

There are a few yachts around here with a 15' sport on the back deck as a tender, That's how I know I'm poor, when I see MY BOAT as the dingy !

I just picked up my new 13' Whaler "Dingy" in Florida. Brought it home this past monday. Some friends of mine call our new boat a "dingy" and I just laugh them off....haha......kind of funny.
