I am looking to purchase a new trailer for my 15 foot 1979 Striper. I would like 13" tires. Other than that I am looking for advice and suggestions. I live in Long Island New York and would also like to know if anyone can give me any dealers that they had a good experience with. Thank you, Chris

There have been some pretty bad shopping stories regarding trailers from members.

Make sure you get a very detailed quote for the trailer with the specifications. Prices vary and many dealers will complete on price. One later finds the expected details (# of rollers, guides, light type) are different.

Prices around NYC will be higher.

You will need to have the boat fitted to the trailer. Make sure the quote adds time for this. No "standard" setup exists for hulls.

Treat it like a car purchase. Bargain hard.

If the dealer is not consumer-freindly, move on.

Thank you Phil. That advice helps. If there is anyone in my area who has purchased a trailer I would like to hear from you.
