The original poster has never given us the HIN number to give us more info on this model.
Anybody else heard or seen anything new on this question about the existence of a 17 Outrage III model, circa 1999? Any spottings in the wild? Any new owners out there?

My 1997 Outrage II capacity plate.
Plate says 17' Outrage (no II)
Also has a different total capacity with same HP size outboard.

I only had one picture of my capacity plate and I only took it for the sale.
I'll now go out and take a good picture of my 1999 Outrage 21 for future reference.
Duane, yours seems to be the same as the OP's 1999 "Outrage III" capacity plate, with the exception of the "III" after the model name "Outrage". Otherwise, all capacities listed are the same.
It sure seems like there were some revisions made to the calculated capacities of the 17 Outrage II model. And this business about a "III" variant is very odd. Of course, BW did not seem to identify the "II" model specifically, either -- at least not on the capacity plate.
Then again, for my 19 Outrage II, the capacity plate merely identifies the model as 19'.
