I hope to replace the transom drain tube on my 1979 22' Revenge in 2 weeks and I have a question as to heating up the tube. I have never annealed brass before so how will I know if I have heated it thoroughly? Will the end of the tube glow red and be easy enough to see in a lit shop? Is there any danger of getting it too hot using a propane torch typically used for sweating pipes? The shop has an acetylene torch but I thought that might be overkill.
