I was curious why Personal Messages are turned off. From what little I've read it seems like that privilege was abused and you took it away.
Now contact relies on email, that may or may not be valid.
I'm really wondering how the Personal Message system abuse was so bad that the only option left was to depend on every member of the site to open their email address to the public.
Now contact relies on email, that may or may not be valid.
All members are required to keep a current email address in their profile.
See the "Code of Conduct" below that everyone agreed to when they signed up here on WhalerCentral. http://www.whalercentral.com/viewpage...age_id=118
Email addresses in a members profile are NOT open to the public.
Only members can view them.
If a member wants to hide his email address, then he/she does NOT want to be contacted. That is their choice.
Things change over time for many reasons as mentioned above and all sites that I know of change their "Codes of Conduct", "Rules", "Agreements" or whatever they want to call them.
We also no longer allow any email addresses in the public forums.
Again, many reasons for this and I am not going to go into detail.
If anyone wants to contact someone, send them an email (in their profile) which does not use any resources from WhalerCentral other then obtaining their email address from their profile.
Again, this is for members only, not the public.
