My friend E, is restoring a boat for himself, for a Scream and Fly River Run (this NOV) and He is on a mission. He sent me these pics in a text, and they start back from last week. Quite possibly the most stark contrast and transformation I have seen: Complete with hull modifications. I sure hope Joe locks these photos in these thread (WOW).

Better than new IMO, too much love invested in this girl.....There's gonna be some serious custom 15's down here next river meet! Drag race is inevitable.

I was worried when I saw the primer coat. I thought he was taking the red away!

Those are cool boats, post pics when he finishes!

Red in general is translucent, the original gel coat was so blotchy that I needed an even base coat. So I used slick sand before the fresh gel coat application.

This is awseom to see, i am starting my Mischief project next week, however we will be converting it to a center console 15, more than likely getting rid of all the red as well.

i am thinking i will have extra parts available if anyone is looking for somethign let me know.

I would think the Mischief is the last 15' model I would want to convert to CC. For ease you may want to find a factory 15' CC, so even if you want a different console/seats, you don't need to modify the floor for a rigging tunnel. The 15' cc was only classic 15' whaler with a center rigger tunnel)

Installing a rigging tunnel in a 15 ft. Whaler is a fairly simple job.

I would think finding a Mischief to convert to a center console would be a good idea. The initial cost would be a lot lower than an original center console 15 footer, becuase of the demand factor, and the actual console itself was a pretty poor design.

Yes, great idea. It will make my Mischief even more rare.

Not only that you could buy up all the discarded deck caps, hoard them and get a lock on the market for mischiefs.

I would think the right thing to do is keep it original, there were not a lot of them made, shame to reconfigure one, but hey, each to their own.

First time on the water we tried two props, a old school 22p two blade with cup and a 24p small blade chopper. Two guys that added an extra 500 lbs to the boat and we got 50mph on the gps at 5,000 rpm WOT on both props. The motor will turn 6,300-6,500 so we are going to try some lower pitch props today.

Eric -- That is some very fine work. I'm looking for something to fault and really can't find anything. Wait, wait...the stern light is wrong.

That boat should be good for 54-55 MPH. If the gearcase uses a 2.07:1 gear ratio (you don't say) you should try a 20" Mercury Laser II or a 19" Turbo 1
