I finally got some pictures last weekend to update my personal page of my 25 Outrage with the new 150 Mercs. Also recieved some "how to " lessons from Joe. I'll be adding some more in the near future, and updated once i get all my teak redone.

Thanks for the assist Joe!

What is that purple thing on the bow...or beside the console? Looks a bit like a miniature person...

You southern guys with sand, sun, and small tides - makes me jeakous! We don't get to run up on the beach much - at least not for long. Nice rig.

Tide, what's that? Whats my boat sitting on the beach have to do with laundry detergent? Oh, you mean when the water goes up and down??? Nope, don't happen here unless you call 6 inches or less a tide. No wakes allowed either when you enter the basin, otherwise 20 ticked off boater will be there to greet you when you hit the sand. It doesn't happen twice.

Pard, i know your from the North, but would have expected you to recognized a "Texas Tea Beverage Container" Mandatory equipment on a Souith Texas Boston Whaler.

No jvz, if it was he always mounts the blender on the bow for easy access, and reducing climbing in and out of the boat, cause for him thats a hazzard.

duf,

I am looking forward to getting some of those beans someday but am worried about sitting around the campfire later like the movie "Blazing Saddles".

Well Joe, they are famous, and when my family comes down, they demand i make them......... however, i will defer to jvz about the "blazing saddles effect". He and his lady ate them, took some with them, and said they "fueled their ride home". Other then that, i'm staying out of this.

More pic! More pics! Duf...you're teasing us with the just that one low rez bow pic. Any transom shots with boat out of the water would be appreciated. Now that I realize I can buy a new original 25' Outrage via the Whaler commercial group, my "next boat" scheme is a 25' Guardian with twin 3.0L Mercury 150's....aka your boat.

Will do Ritz and PDX, can shoot some with it out of the water no problem, its out now. Will continue with the pic's and hope to have some video's showing the boat getting up on plane with only one motor. I'll have to get with Joe to see how i can post that, as i think its a no, no.

Joe, come on down anytime, both CES and jvz have been here, and i will make you my baked beans!

Can believe it on planning on one engine. Can't wait to try the Enertia P18 prop. i think there is a lot of torque on the 3.0L 150. What props are you running and how high up is the mounting?

You made such a great decision going with the two 150's on the 25. We see folks going to twin 250's and even 300's on 25's and here you are with twin 150's....back to the future.

On the video, just post it on YouTube and put the link in a message.

Thanks for the info. I'm one hole down from the top, and as soon as i get someone i trust not to lose my camera, will get a photo of the height of the prop while running at a high rate, but not WOT. The only time i tried it on a single, got up with very little effort, and topped out around 34 -36 i believe. Should be able to get out this weekend, although it will be a short one for me, time to travel again. But i should have something soon. Oh, and running my stock Yamaha props that came off the 200 Yams, they have 19 pitch. Pretty sure i could gain a couple of knots with a nice set of enertia's on there. But i'm just a shade off 50 MPH, so whats the point.

duf,

Your motor would then be mounted "ONE HOLE UP".
http://www.whalercentral.com/articles...cle_id=106

That terminology is used on most sites and we also choose to describe the mounting that way.

I'd bet you are getting great mpg with the 150's. Did you get the Eco-Meter to get your MPG calcs? If you fish, the troll control feature on the Eco-meter is great. I'd bet you can troll at very low speed with one engine running 550 RPM (lowest setting on the Troll Control). Cool thing on Troll Control, if you have paddle wheel sensor, you use speed to set the control.
