Hello all, I recently purchased my first whaler and am excited to be a new whaler owner and member of the whaler community. My ship is a 1984 Montauk 17 with a 90hp Johnson Oceanpro. I live in the Pacific northwest and frequent the south puget sound. We mainly use the whaler for crabbing and fishing in the area.

I look forward to picking your brains and getting advice on a couple projects I have coming up this winter on my new ship. I will be repairing some keel rash and hopefully adding a second battery and switch so I can mount an electric crab pot puller and some downriggers, so thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thanks
Jim

Welcome aboard Jim.

The Montauk is a very versatile boat.
