We are trying a slightly different layout for the front page.
Instead of showing just the last or most recent 15 posts, we are showing the complete discussion area.
You still have the option of viewing the most recent posts by going to the bottom of the center panel on the main page and clicking on "New Posts".
You will also notice that you can view your most recent posts and most recent threads. This way you can always find everything you posted recently.
Some people may be having a problem with the way they bookmarked WhalerCentral originally.
We suggest using this bookmark: http://www.whalercentral.com (nothing else after the .com)
Using that bookmark, it will always take you to the current main page.
Let us know what you think.

Joe, I thought I did something to screw up the front page as I tried the personal page and settled on the personal website. When I hit my favorites to the site all I get is the side bar stuff and i would wait for the rest to fill in and it didn't. Nobody ever likes different. I was just about to contact you to see what I did. (lol)

Drew,
Is everything working properly now for you?
Did you have a personal page?
If anyone finds any problems, please let us know.

I just have to change my old shortcut...
If I click on the Whaler Central logo the middle fills in with the discussion areas. Otherwise I get a blank center.

Can you provide a link to the old page of the newest 20 posts, I really liked the way it used to be.

Yup, I have to agree, but if it works better for Joe, it works for me!

I have used that method, it is not even similar to the old page, it only brings up unread, not all the recent 20 posts

dbcollen,
The old panel showed only the last 15 recent posts grouped together if more then one post in one thread.
Unfortunately, because it is a panel and not a page, it cannot be bookmarked.
This page gives you all the most recent posts since your last visit and they are separate. (not grouped together in one thread)
Not sure on the limit but definitely more then 20. There might not even be a limit.
Even if you read them, I think they are there for a certain time period.
With this new page, you can view every post that each member made since your last visit.
Here is the link for New Posts.
http://www.whalercentral.com/infusion..._posts.php
I have tired this page before and thought it was a little cumbersome.
After trying it again, I think it has many advantages over the other simpler recent posts only.
Members can see all the forum categories.
There is a Search button at the bottom right.
And more.
All opinions and thoughts welcome.

I liked that they were grouped together, and that I could read the thread and respond to it later if I didn't presently have the time, without having to find the thread again.

I have to agree with dbcollen, I miss the simple access to the newest posts automaticly. However, for newer users, the new layout will probably be more informative. I'm kinda bummed, but not so much that I will stop visiting.....
Thanks,
Pete

Nothing you did affected my failure to create a personal page. I gave up and went the personal website route. It was a coincidence that once I got all the stuff done, the center of the page went blank within an hour.(lol) Going to miss the top twenty posts.

I like this format, you can choose to track the thread and yet see the entire site at a glance. The link that uses the whaler central emblem is nice too. It will take some getting used to but is in more in line with other forums.
Thanks Joe.

Sorry, but I don't like the new format either. I agree with dbcollen. Can you provide a link to the old page of the newest 20 posts, I really liked the way it used to be. With the new system, when I login, I am unable to get the latest 20 posts since some of those posts may have already been viewed by me during my most recent visit. In other words, the new system does not include posts I have viewed just recently.

Yes it is more like other forums, but I had always liked this forum much better because of it it's format.

I have added the Latest Active Forum Threads back again.
There seemed to be a small problem with main forum section showing posts that had been read.
For those that want to start with the complete Forum section, use this as your favorite or bookmark.
http://www.whalercentral.com/forum/in.../index.php
Maybe this will work best for everyone.
