Hello all just about to turn my 15 striper into a SS. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the the best distance to mount my new bench seat from the transom. Im looking for the best ride and would sacrifice a little space if it means pushing everything forward.

I think you will find the seating will be in about the same place as it was in the other configuration. I will measure mine up for you. I can not say it is the placement is right but I think I remember placing the rails and wood in the correct position when I finished my 15. I left enough room behind the storage compartment to install a fuel tank and still stand over the motor if needed.

ok I'm back, Mine sets, from the anchor well back, 26 1/2 to the front edge of the front seat and 67 3/4 inch to the leading edge of the helm seat behind the console.

You don't need to move interior forward. If you have max powered 15', my boat seems to like the weight in the rear.

Thanks bake appreciate it. I actually kinda eyes it out yesterday morning from other members pictures. I centered the front bench seat with the front vertical railing. With that... anchor well to front of back seat is about 28 1/2 and about 70 to leading edge of the helm seat. Pretty close to your measurements.... got some updated pics on my photo bucket if your interested!

Thats the original gel coat right? It is easy to see how dark it is compared the the white hatch cover.

Daniel that wood looks great. these little 15 are so awesome. I see them redone as awesome flats boats, center console all clean’ no wood and think man I’ve Got to do that to mine. then I see one with fresh wood and think, Man I’ve got to pull my interior and refinish it. So many choices, it boggles the mind.
