Looking for a shop that specializes in fiberglass restoration for my 16' Whaler in Wilmington, NC. Willing to travel for the right shop. I am planning on a complete restoration and gel coat. Any recommendations.

There is a guy up in Smithfield that does some fiberglass work and has redone at least one 13 foot Whaler that I saw. Look pretty good. I think his name is L M Barbour. I'll try to find his number.

Bennet Brothers, just up the Cape Fear river from the Hilton and convention center by the new bridge, does all manner of boat work, including some excellent glass work I've seen. There number is (910)772-9277. Be advised, they're very good and NOT cheap, not outrageous, but not cheap. Good Luck

I spoke with L M and he has done several Whalers. His website is www.eastcoastresto.com and his phone number is 919-631-3872. He did some minor repair work for me about 5 years ago and he is very detailed.

While Smithfield is not to far from Raleigh, is anyone aware of a good fiberglass shop in the Raleigh area. I am going to need some gelcoat and possible fiberglass work in the transom area on an 18 Outrage.
