I'm restoring a 13' sport circa 1968 and need to locate the approx waterline without putting it in the water. Can anyone with similar boat give me dimensions from gunale to waterline in 2 places? I can do the rest by laser.
I'm not sure as to how you can shoot the line with a laser as the boat does not sit level in the water and a lot would depend on what motor you have, where the fuel tank and battery is located, etc. Is there any way you can look at the boat and get where the approx water line was?
Why not paint the bottom over to the chines while it's upside down, then when you get it all back together and in the water, you can mark the actual line spot on and mask and paint the sides exact when back on the trailer? That way you get the true line and don't have to worry about trailer rollers, etc.
