Im in the middle of restoring a classic BW 1967 Nauset ;have ground down the gelcoat on the hull, I've been told I need to prime the glass before I can gelcoat? I might be confused just want to check before spending more money.
Thanks
If you ground all the way to the fiberglass I would prime. If you don't, there will be tons of pinholes that will show up right after you spray gel coat. It is good to prime and then board sand using a guide coat to be sure the sides are flat.

I believe I am getting Duratec Vinylester Fairing Primer (blue) 1799-051, but not sure. I am buying it from http://www.expresscomposites.com/dura...atec1.html. I would give them a call and talk with them.
