I have an '86 Outrage 18 and have a couple of questions about the original console layout inside after the shop moved some things around:
1) There is a large plastic oval that mounts to the wooden floor inside of the console in the front right for the steering cables, etc. Does this mount stand tall inside of the console or does it face down (like a funnel) and penetrate the boat deck as well? I have a feeling mine was remounted upside down. It stands about 4" tall in the console.
2) Was there anything to protect the edges of the hole in the deck to the rigging tunnel or was it raw? Maybe the part mentioned above serves this purpose as well?
I've looked at Phil T's project album (which was very helpful - thanks Phil) and was wondering if this is how the older Whalers were set up as well.
