Greetings All,

I'm new on this wonderful site and on a bit of a learning curve at the same time! I was able to post my inquire below in the "comments" (by default I think?) area which was not my intention. I would like to get this inquire into the appropriate "discussions" or "thread" or "forum". I'm sorry that I am not familier with the differences of each of these areas. PS: I am also looking for a 15' Striper fiberglass console to buy...

"My 15 is a 1976 which was of course the first year of production for this model and it was also rated for 75HP before being reduced to 70HP in the following years.
I would like to know if anyone knows how I may attain a new original ID decal indicating the 75HP Motor rating?
Thanks!"

Thank You for possible assistance on each of the above subjects )

Respecfully,

Marty Mason

I moved this from the "Comment" section to the "Discussion Areas" for you.
There is no default area as Comments are strictly for making a Comment about the item you are looking at.

Yes, all Questions need to be asked in the Discussion Areas.
The link is on the left sidebar, 4th one down, and then choose the correct category to place your Question.
Boats
Engines
Parts
etc......

You can find photos and information in our "OEM Part Photos and Info" link on the left sidebar.
Take a look at this and where you can buy them.

Magic Brush is a Sponsor on our site. Here is a link to their site:

Talk to Janis and she can probably put the 75hp on the decal if it is legal for her to do so.

Will need your HIN to verify the rating with Whaler, all my info says 70 HP... We won't make it 75 without their OK...

Greetings All ... First off, I would like to Thank Joe for his assistance by moving my post to the appropriate area and for the relevant suggestions to move forward with as they have been fruitful. I hope to get up to speed with this site really quick, in the meantime, thank you for your patience!

I have attached photos for your review and enjoyment and to confirm the 75HP Maximum Rating as printed on the original specification decal that is located on the inside of the hull and just below the edge of the gunnel and next to the helm.

I have also had a nice discussion with Chuck Bennett at Boston Whaler who also confirms that the earlier 15’s were rated for a maximum of 75HP. BW later reduced the maximum HP to 70. I am including the HIN and Stenciled numbers that are on the transom in the engine well. Chuck said that once Magic Brush forwards this information to him and once he confirms that this information to be accurate then he will give Magic Brush the OK to produce the decal in its original form for my restoration project.

I have now also talked with Tom at Magic Brush and he reports that he will have no problem making the new decal upon Chuck’s blessings. Tom is also going to be making me a new set of custom FL registration numbers, Logos and a new boat name ta boot!

FYI here is the facts to go along with the photos:
HIN: BWC1910AM76i
STINCLE: 5A0936

Thanks again to everyone for your interest and input and support!

Well, now I don't see how to attach or include the photos...maybe I have to put them in the photo or project albums???

OK, I think I found where I am suppose to upload photos into an album. Now I have to learn how to reduce the photo's file sizes so that they can be accepted. Wish me luck!

I finally had some time to look this up in the 1976 Boston Whaler Catalog.

The 1976 15' Sport ONLY is listed as 75hp Max and 25hp Min....
