Hi everyone. I am finally at the point of refiberglassing the floor of a 1967 Eastport. Although it doesn't look like an Eastport at the moment. I've gotten an initial layer of mat down as the base and will be laying cloth over the top of that to built up the floor (pretty much most of the interior floor space). Should I sand down each layer a little and wash with a fiberglass solvent wash before glassing each layer to remove the waxy coating, or just install each layer over hardened glass and resin?

Thanks
Andy

Andy,

You absolutely must sand and wipe with a solvent between layers. Most of the resin and fiberglass compannies post instructions online. Failure to follow these instructions will cause problems down the road.
