Hello,

I'm french and just bought a 1987 newport 17"!!!!!! in perfect condition.
I love this litttle boat!!!!
Just whant to know if someone can help me to choose a good fuel tank around 20 gal to put under my SPR.
I read a lot of thing on this forum but every thing is old, for example we can't find any more Tempo product because there aer out off business.
We can still find some Moeller products but can find the right one to fit exactly to me seat.
Any idea or device for a brand new whaler owner!
Last thing sorry for my poor english.

Anyone looking for replacement fuel tanks for Montauks, Newports, or anything with the newer style RPS can look in the "Part Photos" link on the left sidebar.

Look at the Moeller 24 gallong white tank specifically designed to fit under the RPS.

You have the newer style.
Yours should be similar to this but yours probably has padding on the seat back.

The older versions were made of mahogany wood.

tomduv,
I just got the white Moeller 24 gal "Whaler tank". It fits perfectly and looks great. Highly recommended.

Well - I like the idea of the 24 gal white tank - I have to six gallon ones - which are a pain. How the heck do you get that to the gas staion without a hernia? I realize people buy gas at marinas but I am too cheap to pay the premium. I guess you pay either way - Hernia vs cheaper gas?

Sisselchest;

I guess you are lucky enough not to need to trailer your boat?? I fill up on the trailer. I buy gas at marinas only when I'm lucky enough to be on the water for a few consecutive days...

To hc803,
Did you make any transformation to insert it?
Measurements which I took of my RPS seems to be smaller...
