Hello
I am considering using either Interlux Perfection or Brightsides on the interior and exterior of my boat but haven't come up with any recommendations of paint match. Is there any reference sugesting a close match ? What have others used?
Thanks, Dave

Hi bribok,

Your profile says you have a 1961 Nauset but this post says 1972 Nauset...

What year Nauset do you have?

If the original color is BW's Desert Tan, Benjamin Moore "Clay Beige" No. OC-11 is the perfect match. (Thanks to Tom C.)

Hi Joe
I was going to ask you about the age and model. The stamped numbers on the boat are 3481. These are located on the top of the transom and in the anchor locker. That would indicate a 1961 hull, but the Nauset production started in 1962. From the pictures it looks like a Nauset but i'm not sure. The title says 1972. So I'm not sure what I have
Thanks, Dave

OK Dave...

No problem.
I just talked to Chuck at Boston Whaler about the 1961 Nauset models.
These 1961 models were NOT in the 1961 catalogs although they were indeed produced in January of 1961 as 1961 models.
So, you could have a 1961 or possibly a 1962 model depending on the month it was made. However, there are no records at this time from Boston Whaler.
See this new article which you are now on the list.
http://www.whalercentral.com/articles...cle_id=102

So, let's call it a 1961 unless we can ever get any other info on these early models.

Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks Joe
So it will be a 61. Do you think I should have the title changed? Is a 61 more valuable than a 73?

I wouldn't worry about the State titles.
The State paperwork can be wrong many times anyway...

The Stencil number on the boat is the real deal (if original of course) and that is your proof.
If you want to know anymore about your boat, you could contact cbennett@whaler.com and see if he can tell you anymore info.
