I keep getting conflicting answers about whether the wood was mahogany or teak and I can't tell what kind mine was because it was painted over. I was told it was teak by the owner but a friend looked at it and it looked like mahogany to them.

It would require a substantial amount of work however it's much easier on the wallet than buying new.....that is if that's the route you're considering. I'm inclined to hold onto it, but expect resistance from wifey. Was thinking about putting it on Craig's List for a local sale (Jersey Shore), but would be glad to give WC members first dibs.
