What do you guys think? 1995 Dauntless 15 with Evinrude 60 for $6500?

Seems to be in good condition.

Will I regret not going for a 16? Only concern is the 15 will go in the garage and I think I can tow it with my camry.

Will the 60 pull a skier you think?

Thanks!

I love ours. We have Honda 50 HP and pull a skier/tube easily. With a 2 stroke 60HP it should perform exceptionally well. My recommendation to you is to have the motor inspected by a competent, reputable outboard mechanic. If there is anything found to be in need of repair use this as a negotiation point and also as an opportunity to make any needed repairs prior to purchase. Nothing spoils the boat ownership experience more than being dead on the water the first time out. An assessment will also be a great indicator of the maintenance and care the seller has given to the boat in the past.
Good luck with the purchase and let us know the outcome.

Matt's right on the money. I didn't get the greatest advice when purchasing my Dauntless and ended up with a bad engine and a huge bill for a repower. Don't skimp on checking that engine. Maybe $80 - $150 for a compression check. See how it idles - remove the top and inspect for sand and cleanliness as basics. What about paperwork on services etc.
There are always regrets, like not being able to afford a new Outrage 32', but - oh well.

It's all in the engine, so make sure of that and then have no regrets.

As a guy - it's never big enough.

I have a 1993 15-foot Dauntless. Glad I choose this over a 17 foot boat. This boat fits perfectly in my garage, whereas a longer boat would not fit at all. The boat is light. The boat, motor, trailer, battery and two tanks of gas are just under 1,500 pounds. So my six cylinder vehicle pulls it no problem. The motor on my is a 1993 Evinrude 50 hp. I lucked out with my motor, as the former owner maintained it very well. The 50 hp moves the boat easily, even with a full load of people. Lastly, the Dauntless is a very stable boat, and seems to hold its resale value pretty good. Like the poster said above, have the engine checked out, as this is half the value of your rig. Good Luck!

I'm very happy with my Dauntless 15
The 50 pulls a skier fine, just not at competition speeds. We wakeboard as much as anything else.
Advice above is all good.
If you are happy with the condition of the boat it sounds like a good deal you have there.
