New to the forum and glad I found it. Im looking to purchase an 1983 Outrage but there's an issue with the gas tank needing to be cleaned out due to contamination. Owner hasnt used it much but when he does hes been running it off an external tank. Im alittle worried as to why but needless to say what's it going to cost to get it sucked out and cleaned and what do I need to look for? Thanks
I would use caution regarding the fuel tank. I bought my 1985 Outrage from the original owner who was good at maintaining the boat. During the first year, my boat developed a leak in the tank and water was getting into the fuel. I would figure a tank replacement into the negotiated price as a worst case senario. If it is a simple fix, you made out.
