Maybe someone can give me an approximate of what my boat should weigh in at.

1974 Montauk 17, CC with 90 HP Evinrude V4 of 1984 vintage. I plan to trailer it to the scales pretty much empty of fuel and gear and if I can, take the trailer alone later. I will ad a couple hundred pounds for the forward fish platform and teak hatch covers but would like to have a general idea what the basic package should weigh.

Your boat should weigh about 1300 pounds without the trailer, fuel or batteries.

Are you asking to check for water in your hull??

BW will give you the weight of the hull, but says standard configuration. Somehow you need to determind what's included in standard configuration.Items such as rails, steering cables, hatches ect. can add up quickly and be mistaken for water. I'm at a loss on weighing my Revenge.

No, you don't need to guess about the weight of rails, steering cables, hatches etc. because the specified weight from Whaler already includes all equipment that a particular model comes with as standard equipment.

Whaler says the specified weight of a 1974 Montauk is 770 pounds. Yes, you need to add the weight of optional equipment like the forward casting platform.

The V-4 1984 Evinrude 90 with power TnT weighs little overt 300 pounds.

Thank you TWC. I think what ever water might be inside is negligible as far as weight goes after standing on it's rear for the past month with no dripping from a drilled drain hole but I did want to know the numbers for trailering vehicles. A vehicle rated to tow 2000 pounds might be right around the max limit if fully loaded but no issue for me with a short run and decent launch ramp.

Tom, I asked a simular question about standard configuration and the answer was..
"No motor, no fuel, no options"... That part makes sense, but the other part didn't...

"Sometimes it can mean bare hull only and other times it can include the interior of the model which may include railings on some models."

Gary, I've trailered my Monkauk with a 4 cyl truck for 15 years. It does fine.

donp,

That was basically for different models.
If you are looking at the weight of a bare hull, then that is what it is.

If you are looking at a Montauk model, then the weight includes the standard configuration of a Montauk, not a bare hull.
