Here is a new to me 17 footer. Have read the forums and attempted to figure out what this boat actualy is, however , none of the required markings are there. In hopes that the experts here can help me out, please have a look at my personal page and let me know what you think (Cant seem to figure out the photo post bit yet and FAQ isn't to helpful!)
Oh, as for the hole in the deck , the inboard tank is leaking so it needs to come out!
Thanks in advance

Based on the photos on your personal page- it is not a Boson Whaler. Not sure what brand it is. It is one of the many knock offs that were created to mimic the Boston Whaler style.

Go to www.uscgboating.org. There is a recalls and safety defects listing. Click on that and there is a section on MIC
manufacturers id number. Put in the MIC (first three letters on the HIN hull id number and it will tell you the name of the company and if they are in business or not and other things as to type of boats they make.

GN,
Once you have read this and are satisfied this is NOT a Whaler, we need to delete your personal page as this site is for Whalers.
Good Luck finding out what it is.
If you are looking to buy Whaler, by looking around this site you should now be able to determine what you are about to buy.

It would seem that after several phone calls today i may have traced the roots of this boat (you all can chime in as needed). It would apear , from the info gather in the last day or so , that this boat is a knock off, kind of. As far as i can tell, the boat i own is from a BW mold , but branded under a different name. It is built in the same fashion as a BW , but not from the BW factory. Was an old mold purchased/stolen/acquired and then used to recreate the hull. Foam filled and what not , so the question I have is this: Where does this leave me? LOL, does this make me the weird third cousin or just a wanna be? Anyhow , i guess the worst of it at the ned of the day is this : immatation is the best for of flattery......................

Looks like a solid boat none the less. Good luck with finding out her roots.

No, that boat is not form a Whaler mold,. Whaler never made a boat with that hull shape. It is similar, but not quite the same.

While a tri-hull style with a smirk there are many differences that set the hull design apart.
This Tyndall hull however, is a direct splash. When I saw it in New Bern NC 2 years ago it looked like someone likely cast the mold from an actual Whaler hull. 95%+ of the details where that of the 17' Whaler Hull. Even ripped off the logo. the seating and console where different but, if you through an RPS in with a real Whaler console it would be hard to tell them apart from a real Whaler hull just by looking at an picture. People would likely think it was a Whaler that someone did a couple custom changes to the interior. It would take a well trained eye to know what they are looking at. The main difference was in the bow area. It was missing the hump for the Norman pin and it had a rectangular bow locker that looked like a non-smirked 16' hull has.
17' TriHull Info
They also have a 13' hull that was obviously made from a 13' Whaler.

Whatever your boat is it is....
You can enjoy it for what it is or choose to sell it an buy something else.
I think we have determined it is definitely not a Whaler and was not splashed from the original mold.
It is another style of knock off...
