If it's spider cracks you speak of, you must grind all the way to the glass or they will reappear. Sorry but there's no quick fix for them. Thankfully they are normally cosmetic and not structual.
Back in my younger years I had a couple corvettes. I sanded and sanded and had a buddy re spray the GC and then paint the entire car. I think those cracks are just like Arnold Schwarzenager and they will be back. So far just about every Whaler I have looked at has them and they are all pretty much in the same spots. I would love to hear from someone who did the repair 4-5 years ago and can say his GC has remained crack free.
I have a suspicion in regards to the spider webbing and it is the wood beneath the fiberglass that is expanding and contracting with hot, cold, humidity or the lack thereof. I would think a real Garage Queen might not show as many webs as a boat that is left out at a dock, in a drive way or on a mooring and uncovered.
