Hi Gang,
I'm in he market for a Outrage. I've come across a 1988 25 footer in my area which seems to be in mint condition, as far as the boat goes, with twin Mariner 200s in seemingly good condition but with no documentation on hours... the boat has the whaler drive platform... the dilemma is whether to pay the $15-$20k it would take to own this boat versus pay the $35-$40k it would take to own an early to mid 2000 model year Outrage of the same size with newer motors... if I can get a few seasons out of the Mariners, and assuming re-powering with a pair of used four-strokes would cost me about $15k, then it's a wash... but as far as the boat goes, how does a 20 year old Outrage of the same size stack up against one 20 years younger? Would any of you advise me against going with the older one at half the price at this point?
Thank you
Speef
