I fresh water & salt water fish so a bait tank is essential. I have 1997---150 Dauntless with the optional rear seating. On the Port side the fuel tank has been located.
Where have you put a bait tank?
The idea of removing the cooler and installing the bait tank in front of the CC is still an option but the water pick up when moving may be an issue...
Thanks in advance....

I use a removable bait tank in front of the CC on my Outrage. My livewell pump is in my splashwell and plumbed through one of the splashwell drains in the transom to a vertical section of 3/4" PVC that sticks down below the bottom of the hull about 1/4". The PVC has a 45 degree angle and works well for a water pickup. So well in fact, I don't have to run the pump when I'm on plane.
Question, I have a similar setup on my Skippy. How long does the pumps last?
I never seem to get more than on season out of them. That is w/o using the boat much.
I've had pumps fail within weeks of being new, I've had em last two or three seasons. This back when I was using the boat regularly for inshore live bait fishing. At least twice a week.
My pump is usually partially submerged as its mounted in my splash well and I run the boat without any plugs in the splash well. I dont know if thats good or bad.
I typically run a Rule 403C 800gph but have had an Attwood pump as well. I seem to get about the same service out of both.
