I am considering changing 1982 Revenge I/O to an OB. Are the transoms on the 1980’s models strong enough to handle a motor mounted on a bracket? The reason I ask is because I/O transoms don’t have a splash well which I assume gives it additional strength.
Yes, the transom is more than strong enough and will be even more strong once you plug the outdrive hole and overlay the inside of the transom with another layer of 3/4" plywood and 'glass.
