I have a 13' SS Ltd 1987 Whaler witha 2002 40 hp 4 stroke Johnson .Currently swinging a 11 3/8 x 14 3 blade alum. Tachs out easy at 5800 rpm with 2 people an 5 gals of fuel What are the rest of you guys running ? Thanks
2008 130 Sport with Merc 40 4-stroke swinging Merc Black Max 3-blade aluminum 10.25x 14P. Around 6000 rpm at WOT with two people. Assuming the operating range for your motor tops out at 6000, it sounds like you're propped perfectly.
Different motors have different WOT RPM ranges and different gear ratios. You cannot conclude anything about the performance of a propeller on one motor based on how it performs on a completely different motor.
