I'd like to get the transducers off the transom
Looking at things, it looks like I can mount a thru hull transducer where the raw water pump would go thru the hull, opposite to where the live well pump is mounted
Any one have any experience, ideas, comments on this ?
Regards
GJ
EDIT:
Changed the title from 08 which can't be searched properly to 2008 which is the year of the boat so it can be search properly on this site.

I have an 07 with the same mounting spots. I was advised by my dealer and BW that I could mount a thru hull there but a transom mount would be easier. I went with the transom mount and it has work out fine

While you can install a thru-hull transducer, I don't recall your model having a molded pad.
Typically a thru-hull transducer is appropriate for larger 25+ foot hulls.
What exactly is your reasoning for removing the transom mount? If properly mounted, they provide good results at all speeds.

BTW
My boat is a 2008 Dauntless 200.....
EDIT:
Changed the year again to 2008 instead of 08.
This way our search function can find 2008...
I see on Whaler site where you can mount thru hull transducers on a Dauntless 180 but not a 200......

Have you thought about using the Stern Mate? No holes, mounts with epoxy.

I have a transom mount on mine.It works great at slow speeds.
When I go offshore you will loose the bottom if running 20+mph .The thru hull usally will keep tracking the btm.An that is good if looking for stucture.
