I have my family's 1965 Nauset. (I may be a year off). It needs some minor hull and rail repair and a new motor. Specifically, the front rails are loose, the metal brackets backing the rails are corroded, and the interior needs to have the "gel coat" redone. A few of the rail fittings need replacement.
I also want to patch some minor dings on the hull exterior. Where, in or near MD, can I get the rails and fiberglass work done WELL? I don't want to paint the exterior...she's earned her dings (I put many of them there...)
I'm considering a four-cycle 75 hp Merc. Thoughts on that?
The wood is gorgeous and my father purchased the boat new. (I had the wood console, bench, and rod holder redone a few years ago).
Chesapeake Whalertowne - had some minor gelcoat work done there and you can't tell there was ever a problem. They also sell Mercs (and maybe Yamahas - I know they work on them)
Before you launch into a full repair, create a personal page and let us see what your looking at. A lot can be done with gelcoat as far as making it shine and fixing minor issues is pretty easy.
