Do you use or need the Navigation Panel on the left sidebar?
Many sites no longer use them, or very simple ones at best.

We have the "Site Map" but as many are finding out, it contains everything and can take longer to look through then the Navigation panel.

Listen up everyone. Keep posting quick replies to keep this poll on the first page. if you just post "hello" it will keep this thread on the first page. And for goodness sake, VOTE!

I had to lock the other threads that were getting too confusing.
So, let's keep it here.

All sites change.
Do they ask me or you?
I think I learned my lesson. Don't ask. Just do.

However, I am asking about the Navigation panel and if you use it or not.
That's all I am asking.
Yes or No?

At this time the side Navigation panel is not showing.
You can use the 3 links at the top left of the window which is called a Sub-Header for the main items.
1. Home
2. Site Search
3. Site Map

I have turned it off to see if people really miss it or if they really prefer it.
If you all prefer it and vote yes, I will leave it on until the time comes for a new change which would possibly include a different type of Navigation menu.

This site has changed several times in the last 8 years and it will change again.
I have some ideas.
It happens.

No, I never really used it. The site map shows everything available here.
Thanks Joe for all that you do here!

I say keep the sidebar. It makes it easier to navigate the site with everything shown.

I did like the change you make earlier this week when only the newer unread threads were shown while signed in and the discussion areas were shown at the bottom of the home page.

Thanks for all the work you do to maintain the site Joe.

I wish the left bar was still there and I like the return of the random photos as well.

Good, Joe returned the left side bar
.

Can you please replace the PP links to the bottom of the forum too?

I returned it for now with a slight twist.

At the top right of the Navigation Panel there is an orange triangle.
For those that don't want to see the panel, they can click on the triangle and collapse the panel.

I am slimming and streamlining some items on the site and that is one of them.
Trying to make it easier for some members without taking away things others use.

I was thinking of putting many of those links on the Sub-Header but all of them obviously will not fit.
Articles
Downloads
Site Search
Site Map
etc., etc., etc.

Expect some changes in the future but we will have some sort of Navigation venue besides the Site Map due to the amount of yes votes here.

Thanks for voting and letting us know what you use.

That's interesting. Be nice if the forum software folks could make it collapse horizontally so it gave the messages more space.

Yes, I use it.

Triangle to minimize is great idea and so is the "minimize" in horizontal fashion as mentioned above instead of vertical.

Thanks Joe! Great site and I appreciate all the work that you put into this.
