Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos

Hallo to everybody.
I have a Boston Whaler 25 at the seaside and I would like to bring my 3 years old baby on the boat next summer. My idea is to buy a special net to be put in the front area, so that the baby can't fall out.
Does someone have the dimensions of the front alluminium rail (bow rail)?
With those dimensions I can have the net done and secure the space between the front rail and the hull.

You could use lifeline nylon netting and just make it yourself, its availabe at most marine stores like west marine and such. Its commonly used on sailboats.

My wife and I brainstormed some ideas because of similar concerns. The best solution we came up with (in conjunction with always being in contact with the kids) was to utilize some extra staircase/spindle webbing we purchased at a Babies R US - http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2328540. It has eyelets that allow you to attach it to the bow rail/stair rail using the ties that come with the product, however I would use zip ties – just a thought.

Thank you for both ideas given.
My idea is to buy a net without knots (so children don't get hurt in case they play with it).
Since I have to order it and I cannot see the boat till summer, I was wondering the dimension of the net I have to order.
I was thinking to order a net 26 feet long and 3 feet high.
