So I have seen pictures on the internet of this model where the cooler seat is behind the console and a swivel seat is to the left serving as the auxillary seat. There is also a swivel seat mount on the bow.

I have also seen photos where the cooler seat is in the auxillary position and the swivel seat is behind the console serving as the pilot chair. The owner said that he modified it so he had back support while driving.

With that said, was the original model fitted with the cooler seat as the pilot chair? Did they produce them both ways?

Thanks for reading,

Jason

Standard pilot seat was a 48 quart cooler. Nothing else was optional for the pilot seat.

Forward and Aft pedestal seats were optional and available separately.

Also optional was a fiberglass stern deck with a pedestal seat mounted in the center or a ski pylon.

The pilot seat remained the same however. 48 qt Igloo Cooler with cushion.

Thanks Joe! That's kinda what I thought about the cooler seat. So the Whaler I am looking to buy is custom then because the pilot seat is swivel and the auxillary is the 48qt cooler. The cooler is held in place by 2 strips of mahogany secured to the aft floor. It is secured to the wood with bungee cords and runs parallel to the port side of the boat. It also has the forward swivel seat by the anchor hold. I can't wait to possibly join the Whaler family tomorrow!!

I'll post pics if the deal goes through.

One last question Joe - Consider this boat in excellent condition and the engine a 1980 2 stroke Merc in good condition. Never used in salt water and has had only one owner. What would you say it could go for on the West Coast market?

That's always a tough question without seeing the boat.

This is very, very, rough estimate of older Whalers with original motor and trailer but all in very good condition.

13' = $3k
15' = $5k
17' = $7k and more depending on model and any Canvas etc...

I'll let you know what happens tomorrow. Those prices are exactly in line with what I was going to offer before I even asked you the question, and I mean exactly.

Thanks again,

J
