looking for a kit wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. Wanted a T top but think the sun top is the way to go. Feel free to post a link to where i can find them.

Mills Canvas was one of the original suppliers and still supplies canvas for almost all models.
http://www.millscanvas.com/frame_inde...index2.htm

The early version had the top inside the boat when not in use.
The later version had the canvas stowed outside the bow rail when not in use.
You can view many members that have canvas in the personal page section and then view by model. Look at the Montauks.

Here is a 1977 model with the canvas outside the rails which I prefer.

Don't know any of your details or needs, but for a few dollars more we went with a different setup than the standard "outside the rails" configuration. This allowed 2 things - most importantly we were able to give my wife the coverage she wanted out front over the cooler seat and also behind us on the RPS, and was able to raise the height as I'm 6'4". It's also very easy and quick to fold up or open. We chose the traditional whaler red and love it. Pictures on our personal page. A very good investment. Good luck with your decision.

If you still want a T top, check Bimi Tee top.
You can mount rod holders, lights, antennas etc on it. You cannot do that on a bimini.
It comes apart for garage use, bolts to the console, not the deck and costs about the same as a bimini.
www.bimiteetop.com or 1888 251 5911 or 813 240 1617
I have one on a Montauk for many years. I got the 4 1/2 X 6' model.

I have heard these reduce sability of the boat. They also act as a sail when crusing. Any pictures of your set up?

Joe Kriz, It looks like Mills only makes an inside the rail kit for my montauk. Any suggestions?

The later version starts in 1996 I believe.
That would be the kit to buy for the version that goes outside the rail.

NB1214 - Sorry it took so long to reply...on vacation. All the canvas on A Little Madness is Sunbrella. The frame is stainless and was custom made by one of our local canvas people in the area. He came to the boat, measured and talked to us, came back with the frame and remeasured, and there it is. It's all about what you want. Good Luck!
