Can I replace through hull scuppers on my 1998 Dauntless 13? The flaps are hard and no seal. I've heard ball-type are used on newer Boston Whalers, but would like to keep orig, or that maybe thats not even an issue if ball-type better. Where can I find orig type?

Correction: through-transom is what I meant...

I don't know if the Dauntless uses something special but most marine retailers carry just the flapper or the entire through transom assembly with the flapper. They're very common.

A Google search of the word scupper turned on a long list of sources if you don't have anything locally.

The ball types are pretty fragile, and the nylon ones will eventually deteriorate.

Replace them with stainless. Whaler currently uses Southco.
