I agree with Mike's suggestions.

It does not really matter what specific specie of Teak Whaler used. It was probably Burmese Teak (Tectona Hamiltoniana) but it could have been Common Teak (Tectona Grandis) as well, or some of both.

The reality is that Burmese Teak available now is the last we will probably ever see. With the political strife in Myanmar (formerly Burma) no new teak is coming out of there and the trees that still stand are endangered.

Plantation grown teak is what will be available in the future once the existing caches of Burmese teak are all used up (and the prices will continue to climb as that becomes even more scarce.)
