Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Trolling motor vs. Bow Rail...my solution

Just added pics to my personal page. I cut out the center section of the bow rail. Then add a stanchion just inboard on front to help the remaining part be more secure. On the cut ends of the rail we added a circle and made a piece of life line with pelican hooks. With life line removed the TM is easy to use.

Interesting solution, looks functional. I've often though about trying to make the section of original bow rail removable.

If you get a chance, maybe edit your personal page so the pics are stacked vertically. Right now they're all on one line and a visitor has to scroll across the page to view some of the pics at the end. At least on my 24" monitor I couldn't fit em all in.

Dunno why the pics are that way on your screen. I have a 24" and they are vertical.. ???

There is a place in Oakland, Ca working with Outboard Motor Shop (Whaler Dealer) who makes the front part removable but they want $500 to do it !! Without those extra stanchions/braces that were added the sides are a tad wobbly w/o the center section. They are rock solid now on mine.

You don't have line breaks between your images. If a visitor's screen resolution wont accommodate the width of more than one pic in the same line, it stacks em automatically with some browsers.

Not a big deal. Just thought I'd mention it.

I really like your bow rail solution. I've always struggled with operating my TM under the rail but never had the guts to cut it up.

I'll try to fix that. This is my first try on a Personal Page.

I was lucky to have a friend who does this kinda work for a friends price :)

I wanted to put up a personal avatar but could never get a jpg down to 30kb ! The one I was working on was 92 when it was reduced to 100x100 pixels...

Just fixed the pic lineup and added captions...should be more user friendly now
