I have a 1994 Outrage II, it's a little heavier that the earlier 18s, but shares the same hull shape. Rides nice in the chop because of its weight. I really like the layout, console-wise and the built in livewell. Storage is good too, with the forward bilge available for stuff. The only change I have planned is a ski pylon for the kids and a leaning post to replace the seats for a while.

Tank is painted aluminum. Can't be replaced without removing top layer of liner. From what I understand, these hulls have three pieces: hull, inner liner and then the top liner. The tank resides betweent the top two liners. If I had to change mine, I'd probably cut out the floor behind the console to the stern seats. The HDPE floor boards below the console, above the tank are held down by screws. Then I'd lift the tank out and replace the floor. Toughest part would be the blending the non skid surface after the repair, but that shouldn't be impossible. But I'm not fixing anything till it's broken! So far, no indication of any tank corrosion. I think it helps that the space between the tank bottom and the innner liner appears to drain to the forward bilge, like someone else pointed out.

This is a great site for great boats!
