Selling my beloved '85 Montauk. She has been good to me and lots of fish netted off of her gunnel.

Does anyone know of a good way to remove black marks from the hull?

It's OK to cry! Any idea as to what the black marks are? That would help in how to remove

I have taught my children that it's "OK" to cry. It is a human responce to any number of exterior factors in our lives. Never be ashamed to show your true feelings!!!

What caused you to part with your Montauk? And what will you be replacing her with? Every "real" man needs a Whaler....

As far the black marks, I agree with Tom. We need to know the source of the marks. I'm going to assume they were caused by the bunks on your trailer and tell you to try,

a; Rubbing compound, followed by a quick wipe of wax or

b; Comet. I have had great success removing black sneaker marks from the non skid on the deck. Used in conjunction with a stiff nylon brush the Comet works well.

All the best,

Norm

My wife recently discovered Mr. Clean magic eraser. That stuff really works wonders.

Ive been close to tears selling a boat not knowing if there would ever be a replacement and every time have always eventually moved to a better boat . Even Though at that moment it seemed like it was impossible . It was just a season ,and I love my current 17 montauk and cant imagine anything else ,it to someday will go, I know I wont go with out a whaler for long .
