Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Which Baystar hydraulic cylinder?

I am going to purchase a Baystar system but I'm not sure what hydraulic cylinder I need. I have a 1990 Evinrude 88SPL that I am going to mount on a CMC PT130.
I see that the Baystar kits come with cylinder HC4645H. When I looked at the Baystar website I don't see any listing for the 1990 engines. I found a UK website that had 1990 engines and it indicated I needed cylinder HC4648H.

Does anyone know if I can use the kits that come with HC4645H? What is the difference between the two cylinders?

The boat is a 1961 16'.

Thanks,
Kevin

Not sure why they left out the 1990 model.
Must be a typo on their part.

I would contact Telflex and see what they have to say about it.

I sent a couple of emails last week and haven't heard anything back. I was hoping someone here would know.

Thanks,
Kevin

If someone here owns a 1990 model that has installed a BayStar, and they happen to read this, then they might be able to help you.

That doesn't sound too promising to me.

I suggest a phone call to Teleflex.

I think Joe is correct Call them. My guess is; you will end up with a BayStar Steering Kit /Part# HK4200A
