I have a 60's Whaler 13 that I intend to restore. There is water saturation in the foam on the starboard side that needs to be addressed along with spongy sections of the hull in the same water areas. I am thinking of cutting sections of the deck out so I can get to the saturated foam and remove it. I would then reinforce the hull interior with fiberglass cloth everywhere I remove foam. To finish I am planning on pouring a 2 part polyurethane foam back into the areas where it was removed and then repace the exposed sections of deck. Has anyone done this when dealing with water saturation? If anyone has other ideas on dealing with foram saturation that is less extensive but effective please let me know.
