The '83 Sport 13 I recently got has an interesting front seat. The PO turned it into a neat storage locker. He cut the seat in 3 pieces, added about 6" deep sides, and put a bottom in it. The middle section has piano hinge so you can lift it up. The bottom rotted away (as did the rest of the interior), but there's enough left to get the idea. He said there were blocks under the middle, so the short end pieces wouldn't be expected to hold up the full weight of passengers. Here's a pic of the open seat. Pretend it still has a bottom in it....

Imagine the space you would gain if you did both seats!
