Hello all,
This is my first post to Whaler Central and I'm sure it won't be my last. I purchased a 66 Currituck for my teenage son for a summer project. It's sea worthy, but has extensive crazing and needed a lot of TLC. We've decided to redo the entire exterior of the hull, reassemble, use it and do the interior this winter. So here is where we stand now. We've got it stripped, flipped over and completely sanded with 80 grit. (transom, gunnels, etc.)
So is this the list of order?
1. glass work to bow & keel (minor work, not stucturial)
2. fill dings w/ Formula 27
3. prime w/some type of epoxy primer that fills crazing (what brand?)
4. fairing work (what brand?)
5. sand
6. prime again
7. paint (Gel-coat vs. Interlux Perfection?)
8. reassemble & drop it in the water
I been leaning toward Interlux Perfection paint but I'm not sure about using it below the waterline. I apologize for the length of this post and look forward to all answers
