I have a Montauk 170 and would like to add a three rod holder on to the splash well. As the splashwell wall is filled with foam I am looking for ideas as to the best way to give me a fairly strong mount.

Thanks,
Ian

I remember seeing a picture of a Montauk somewhere on the site and the owner had a rod holder mounted on the splashwell. Let me see if I can find that picture and get the member's name. Maybe you could message him for some advice. By the looks of his boat, he knows what he is doing. I'll be back.

I found the pic.

Check out Bottomfish's personal page. Take a look at the last picture. He has a really nice looking '83 Montauk.

Hope this helps.

I have my fuel filter/water separator mounted in the splash well, use coarse thread with some kind of sealant to prevent water from getting in the foam.
