I have a 20’ 1988 Outrage it has four compartments up forward of center consol.
Which one would I use for a fish well ? I not sure what to use the little side
Compartments for.

I used the side compartments for dock lines and anything else skinning that would fit.

The very front locker is the anchor locker and whatever else fits.

The largest locker I used for fish but not a live well.

How do you get the water in and out of the fish well.

Water IN = pull the plug

Water OUT = Bilge pump
or, take the plug out and run the boat. The locker will empty while running then put the plug back in.

On my 25' I use the forward locker for the anchor (lined with a dense foam mat to prevent damage to gelcoat), two smaller ones on each side for bumpers and dock lines, and rear one for dry storage(mainly tackle for offshore). I use a large Yeti cooler for a fish box....easier to clean.

Above descriptions of use are all accurate, and as a long time 25 Outrage owner who has done a LOT of fishing, I would not use any of these front lockers for a fish well. You will regret it, as the cleaning and de-odorizing would be a LOT of constant work. Use them all for dry storage. The 20 does not have the stern fish/live wells that the 22 and 25 have, so I would use a portable cooler instead.
